A Freshly Pressed Thor-some Evening! (Groan)

Yesterday evening The Bloke and I decided to go and watch the new Thor film at the cinema. I’m a huge fan of the Marvel films (Avengers Assemble is possibly the best action/fantasy film ever made) and if I’m being totally honest, I was quite looking forward to the prospect of drooling at a shirtless Chris Hemsworth (and appreciating his dramatic talents of course!!).

I wasn’t disappointed, the film was fabulous. So fabulous, in fact, that I had to stop myself from standing up in the middle of the main fight sequences and yelling ‘YEAH’ at the top of my voice. It was also nice to see Christopher Eccleston, a talented British actor, playing the role of the bad guy Malaki, which he did extremely well. Unfortunately, the language that was spoken by Malaki was a little amusing – it somewhat reminded me of the ‘Jabba Wookie Nipple – Pinchy‘ quote from Family Guy’s ‘Blue Harvest,’ so that made me giggle. I’m not going to give a detailed film review at the risk of giving away any spoilers, but these are the facts you should know if you are planning to see it:

  • The effects are incredible
  • The plot is great
  • Chris Hemsworth does indeed take his shirt off
  • It is obvious that George Lucas has provided the sound effects
  • You need to stay RIGHT TO THE END of ALL the credits

After we left the cinema we went to Frankie and Benny’s for some dinner before we went to bed. I checked my blog and was really surprised to see about a hundred comments all on a post that I had written a few days ago. Then I saw it:

‘Congrats on being Freshly Pressed!’

I checked the Freshly Pressed section and there I was!!! My post, Professional or Hobbyist? had been featured and I had received an enormous amount of views. I let out a squeak in the middle of the restaurant which caused the table next to us to jump and attempt to kill us both with a death stare.

I’m absolutely over the moon – ironically enough I had a conversation with someone yesterday about this very thing!

Thank you all for your comments, likes, reblogs and a huge welcome to my new followers!! I hope I don’t disappoint!!

  1. Cool! Well done, you!!! Get those dark sunglasses out, girl. Hope you’ll still come and visit me from time to time now you’re famous, huh? Come to the dark side, we have cookies…. ok, I don’t. But I’d like you to come around and play anyway ( the lego’s on me). 🙂

  2. Frankie and Benny’s, I miss that about England…which is ironic when you think about it. Awesome to see you Freshly Pressed, I salute you.

  3. Congratulations! That is great for you 🙂 I’m looking forward to this movie now. Can’t wait to watch it 🙂

  4. Aw, Suzie. Bugger the movie!

Many congrats on being freshly pressed! It couldn’t happen to a nicer, more deserving blogger.

Was there a happy dance in the restaurant?

I don’t do much in the way of movies you’ll gather. Although your sneak peek has me curious now. :)x

  5. Your list of reasons to see the new Thor film is absolutely all the reasons I need. The Avengers was 100% success. I don’t know how I missed out on the superhero phase of my life, but I’m making up for it now! 🙂
Congrats on being Freshly Pressed!! I’m headed over to read that post now. 😀
