An Awesome Day…

imageToday has been wonderful. Really wonderful.

I wouldn’t say that there was anything particularly special that happened as such. I went for a run with my friend in the rain, which was the longest distance I had gone in a while, I organised some clothes and washed a pile a laundry, I treated myself to a few new tops for Barcelona in Sept as I have been paid, I replied to lovely comments on the blog and I read some posts. The Bloke and I have watched television for the last few hours, and he has now gone to bed as he has got to be up early in the morning for work.

But today, everything seemed positive. I genuinely enjoyed the run while I was out there, despite being out of my comfort zone, and could easily have gone on for much longer, I had a sense of satisfaction once the laundry had been done, I enjoyed the time spent with The Bloke, and I’ve been able to add to my ‘Suzie has quit her job and needs to pay rent’ savings.

I’m just starting to feel like I am discovering a little part of the old me again. It’s going to take a while, but there was a flicker of light today that tells me I’m heading in the right direction.

I’m also very excited about this weekend, as I will be in London for the Annual Bloggers Bash. Organised by Sacha Black and her team of awesome bloggy volunteers, the event is something I have been looking forward to for a while. In fact, The Bloke and I are going to make a long weekend out of it, have booked a hotel and we’re going to be tourists the day before. It’s been ages since we’ve visited, and we’ve been working out where we want to go and what we want to see.

And here’s the disgusting self-promotion bit…

At the Bloggers Bash, there will be awards. I have been nominated for two of these – ‘Services to Blogging’ and ‘Inspirational Blogger’ and I would love it if you would vote for me. It doesn’t require any sign up, just a simple click next to my name in the voting poll.

Voting closes on Thursday night, so get your votes in now! I’m up against some awesome people!

So glad to hear you are finally sort of retired from your school job. You sound like you did the right thing. Have a great weekend/vacation. You both earned it. πŸ™‚
