I spent the majority of the day wrapped in a big fluffy white towel and lounging around next to a lovely pool. I’ve had a full back, neck and shoulder massage and my scalp is feeling lovely after having lots of lovely oils rubbed into it.
It’s my friend’s birthday and we decided to get some time to relax and pamper ourselves. We brought a lovely lunch with us, sat and read trashy magazines and talked lots of girly talk, that is, in between jacuzzi sessions!
It is a tough life indeed!
Spa days are a luxury I discovered a few years ago – there are some brilliant deals that I have taken advantage of recently and I’m never disappointed. And how could you be – a day where time stops for a little while is always a wonderful thing!
What about you guys? What’s your favourite thing to do for ultimate relaxation?

A pedicure. Then a soak in my hot tub (spa) with a glass of wine. Enjoy your spa day! ❤
Ooh I love longs baths… I wouldn’t let anyone touch my gnarly feet though haha!
Hammock naps when the weather cooperates!
I’ve never been in a hammock. There’s something to add to the bucket list!
Lazy mid 70s afternoon with a slight breeze and a book and tasty beverage in hand it doesn’t get much better. This is assuming you don’t live in a high traffic area.
Haha! I live on a street where there are rows of terraced housing on each side… Not sure what the neighbours would think but if I ever give it a go I’ll let you know!
Sounds like the perfect relax.
Ooh it was! Awesome day – hope you’re doing well!
I’m doing good. Feel free to visit my blog whenever, though I must say its become a bit raunchy.
Glad you’re doing well! Thanks for the invite!
Just thought I should warn you that it’s got a bit sexy.
Ok thanks
Enjoy then, hope the posts aren’t too rude.
Massage!!! Even imagining it relaxes me a little, mmm.
It’s sooooooo good haha!
I am so jealous! Sounds lovely. I like to sit on our porch when the weather is just a bit cool with a shawl or blanket or sweater and listen to the quiet of the country. It makes for a good time to read or just look across the hay ground to the south, or trees and pastures to the north. And sip coffee or tea. Have a wonderful day. Happy birthday to your friend. 🙂
You just can’t beat a ‘spa day!’ – bliss!
Sorry for the late reply Amanda – no idea how i missed your comment! I totally agree – I went for the first time a few years ago and my only regret was that I hadn’t gone sooner!!
Swim in a lake all day and lie on the deck in between long laps.
Ooh that sounds perfect!
Ohhhh…what a lovely day!! My day would include a mani/pedi session, a good massage, lunch at a vineyard with fabulous wine, and then a couple of hours at the beach with a good book. Sigh….
Ooh that sounds lovely (except for the pedi – I won’t let anyone touch my gnarly feet haha!)
I still having figured out that one yet. Maybe I’ll try a spa day and see if that’s the answer. 🙂
You so should. No speedos though…
In recent years a Spa day has been my ultimate treat because there’s no kids there! *harassed Mum*
I don’t have children and that’s another reason why I like going – of course, I’m not anti-children by any means but it’s one of the only places I can go without them being there haha!
A rainy Spring morning with all the windows open in the house. No sounds of televisions. The dishwasher is empty, the laundry is done, dinner is planned, the house is clean and tidy and I have nothing to do but read a book. No slamming of doors, no posturing of siblings and the knowledge that I am on the first day of a three day weekend. Those are the best days.
Oh my gosh yes. This. Couldn’t have put it better myself!
Sleep 😀
Absolutely! I did nothing all day and yet felt exhausted!
I treat myself to a facial every month. It doesn’t do a damn thing for my wrinkles. But I usually fall asleep on the table, so, major plus 🙂
Haha! I’ve never had one – I’m frightened to as my skin reacts really easily to products, but my friend had one and thoroughly enjoyed it!
I have yet to experience a full spa day – thinking it’s something I need to look into!
Ooh you definitely should – there’s some brilliant offers out there!
Spa days are bliss! It is such a wonderful way to relax and have some ‘me time’. I find it more enjoyable to spoil myself with a manicure and massage than a new top these days 🙂
Ooh I totally agree. I’d never been to one until I got a spa day for my birthday a few years ago, and I try and look out for offers when I can afford it… Far better than clothes shopping!
Definitely a long bath! I’m lucky if I can make it through bath time without one of my boys needing the toilet though 🙂
Haha, I can imagine! Baths are an epic thing for me – I can spend several hours in there reading a book.
