It’s Halloween, and while many people are preparing for a party with their loved ones, or getting ready to go trick-or-treating and annoying their neighbours, I thought it would be a fun idea to host a virtual party here in the blogosphere.
For those of you who have never participated in a blog party before, the rules are simple (PLEASE READ THESE FIRST BEFORE POSTING)…
1. Choose your favourite post from your own blog. The subject of the post can be anything you like – blogging, food, parenting, life, travel, thoughts, photography… Note: This should be only one post at a time or it will get sent straight to the ‘spam’ folder and I may not be able to find you for a while. You can share up to three links, and for maximum impact I would suggest that you wait a little while in between posting them rather than in one go.
2. Paste the link in the comment section of this post and feel free to write a little bit about yourself and/or your blog.
3. Enjoy! Relax, pull up a chair, meet new people! Find new blogs, comment on their posts, follow, reblog and share. Let them know that you met them here!
The party will be going on for the next 24 hours, and you can visit as many people as you like. You don’t have to follow my blog or social media accounts to participate (although you’re always welcome to!) and you’re very much allowed to reblog and share this post so you can invite your friends!
Dont forget, if you instantly want to meet new people without waiting for links, I’ve got a whole group of lovely blogging sponsors in my sidebar who would love it if you stopped by to say hello!
Want to join in another blog party? Donna is hosting one at her place – hop on over and say hi!
Ooh I’ve been looking forward to this! Let’s get the party started!
You can also find me on Twitter and Tumblr @suzie81blog, and don’t forget to check out my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/suzie81speaks, my Pinterest page http://www.pinterest.com/suzie81speaks and my Instagram page http://www.instagram.com/suzie81speaks.
Happy Halloween everyone. Wait till you see my pics 🙂 6 children under 4 all dressed up. I don’t know who is more happy…them or me 🙂
Happy Halloween! Aww how sweet! Have you got a link that you want to share?
Thanks, Susie (and Barb Taub for reblogging this). I love blog parties!! We’re sharing a little trick-or-treating nostalgia at our blog today!

Hi, Suzie… thanks for hosting this. I write humor stories about my little adventures in midlife. Hi Steph! Thanks so much for sharing your link! Hope you have a nice time meeting lots of new people!
Thanks! I am loving it so far 🙂
What a thoughtful and mindful post!! I love it! Cher xo
Great! I am glad you enjoyed!
Hi again, everyone! What a lovely party – I’ve already met lots of great people. This is my second link, about an issue close to my heart: the refugee crisis. Nothing to do with Halloween, I’m afraid- we don’t really do Haloween in Greece- but just as scary (if not more…)
http://athensletters.com/2015/10/09/the-refugee-crisis-revisited/
Thanks again! So pleased you’re enjoying it!
this is definitely a thought provoking piece on the refugee crisis…
I’ve really enjoyed the postings I have read today. And it’y only mid afternoon here. Thank you all. I’m not even close to being done reading. I’ve cribbed together a very short one about my favourite Halloween. wp.me/p1xiZs-d6
Have a great rest of the day. Keep them coming.
Hi Dann! I don’t think the link has worked?
Nope it’s still not working! I’ve been a bit off my game the last two days. Third time the charm using the full link this time.

Kick-ass Character Inspiration for Halloween Costumes & Cosplay
https://manchesterflickchick.wordpress.com/2015/10/31/kick-ass-character-inspiration-for-halloween-costumes-cosplay/
I’m a big geek basically ^_^
I like geeky – the geekier the better!
I mean we both know it’s just another word for ‘awesome’ anyway.
Absolutely!
So which did you pick for yourself?
Well I usually dress like Dutch in real life anyway – but without the guns so I guess it was a bit of a cheat. Uma Therman’s character would be a nice change.
I always thought that would be a fun one, too! I’d have to convince the hubby to shave though if he were going to play Vincent Vega (sp?)
Never an easy feat to convince a dude to do that lol
Happy Halloween! Thanks for hosting this, Suzie! I’m excited to connect with all of you and check out your lovely blogs! Here is a post I wrote last week about making time for the things we’re passionate about: https://sherinaspeaks.wordpress.com/2015/10/25/making-time-for-our-passions/
Hi Sherina, fascinating article. I found the idea of our different ‘tendencies’ particularly interesting. I think I’m a ‘questioner’, which I guess is both good and bad hehe. Thanks for writing this post. David
Thanks, David! There are definitely pros and cons to each tendency, haha!
Hi Sherina! Thanks so much for sharing a link! Hope you have a great time!
Totally agree, making time for our passions is so important!
Great post, Sherina. After many years, I’ve finally given myself permission to live life as I want to, rather than how others feel I should be. My mantra is now “My Life. My Rules.” I still battle what I ‘should’ be doing versus what I ‘want’ to do, but it’s definitely getting easier. Good for you that you’ve learned this early. Go get ’em!!
Thanks, Sue! That’s a great mantra to have.
Fellow introverts you may like this read…

Hi Steph, This is a beautiful article and very timely. I agree with you that many things can be a form of meditation and I especially love going for long walks. It’s even possible to meditate while listening to the radio or watching TV but getting out in nature is for me always the best way to recharge my batteries. Thank you for writing this lovely piece. David
Thank you for the lovely comment. It is nice to know other people find joy in those things. I am glad you enjoyed!
Thanks Steph!
I hope you liked it. I am really enjoying this blog party today 🙂
I’m so pleased – thanks!
Lovely point you make in your post Steph having some quiet reflection time is so important. 🙂
Happy All Hallows’ everyone. Here’s a post called Dancing with the Dead. It’s actually about The British Museum, which has a Days with the Dead exhibition. Enjoy and looking forward to reading others http://www.sketchesintravel.co.uk/2015/10/the-british-museum.html
This is great Gavin and some wonderful photos too. I love the British Museum and it’s so fascinating to learn about other cultures and traditions. Very appropriate. Thank you.
Thanks David, much appreciated. It was a real surprise seeing the skeletons, really added to a great visit.
Hi Gavin! Thanks so much for sharing your link! Have a great time!
Thanks Suzie and you
Gavin this is a fantastic post about the British Museum will have to visit!
Hi again, Suzie! What an awesome group attending your Halloween Blog Party! The number of incredible writers/photographers in the blogosphere never ceases to amaze me! Here is my second post (and thank you so kindly again for hosting this brilliant get-together, Suzie) which is about a Chicago bus driver who showed the most compassionate and thoughtful gesture I’ve ever witnessed on a bus. It’s called, “Synchronicity & Compassion on Route 92: http://wp.me/p4doQv-SH
That is a lovely article and very heartwarming. There is good in this world and it’s so wonderful to witness it first hand. Thank you for writing this, David.
I love how you’ve thrown yourself into the party Cher! Have a great time!
Thank you, my dear! I am having a great time indeed!! Thank you again for hosting such a brilliant bash! Cher xo
You’re very welcome!
xoxo 🙂
Brilliant post – what an amazing photography too. I loved the closing paragraph. Indeed, what do they think of us?! Made me smile 🙂
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for your extremely thoughtful words my dear! I am deeply humbled. I honestly thought to myself, “What are these creatures thinking?” *LOL* Truly, you have made my entire day!! Cher xo
This is a truly magical and moving post wonders do still happen. 🙂
Bless you for that, my dear; thank you so much! I completely agree that wonders do still happen, thank goodness! Cher xo
:))
🙂 🙂
Thanks for sharing this heart-warming post, Cher.
Hi Sue! Thank you so kindly! I am truly grateful I saw this wonderful interaction that day on the bus. It changed my day completely! Cher xo
wp.me/p1xiZs-d6 My apologies Suzie! I think it’s because of where I pasted it. Hope it works this time.
Hi Suzie and everyone else here.
Happy Halloween to one and all. I write about several subjects on my blog, especially metaphysics, meditation and yoga, but my main subject matter is about the vegan lifestyle/movement. I know this isn’t most people’s cup of tea as we make up less than 2% of the population at the moment, but I would love people to read my latest article with an open mind.
I’m going to go through as many blogs here as I can and read them. Writing is a passion of mine as I’m sure it is with most people here. We creative types need to stick together 🙂
Thanks, David,
Here’s the link,,, http://davidlewismiller.com/cognitive-dissonance-and-animals/ (Is it OK to hurt animals?
ps. If you don’t want to read about veganism then may I suggest my yoga article or my post on mindfulness meditation as alternatives. 🙂

Hi David! Thanks so much for participating – I can see you’ve got yourself a drink and thrown yourself into the party! Hope you meet lots of new people!
No place to like or reply. Good information, especially about meditation which I’ve struggled with for years.
Great blog posts David. Some really good advice. Thanks for sharing
David, i really enjoyed reading your posts about yoga and meditation. I used to practise yoga when I was younger and your article has encouraged me to try it again. I also have been doing tai chi for eight years! Find it a bit of a walking meditation.
Hi! happy Halloween! I started to circulate and then realized I better join in before it’s too late. It’s only 1:15 PM here in Ontario but you are a few hours in the lead. My blog name is “Ontheland” and my love of nature, gardening and concern about climate change is a major source of inspiration…but the whole process of writing and reading blogs has led me to explore poetry and reflect about life. My scope is expanding. Here is a link to a recent post featuring William Blake’s “The Tyger” and a quote by Mahatma Gandhi. Contemplating Powerful Forces
Hey Janice, I tried your link, but it does not seem to work …
Thanks so much for letting me know😊
No worries
Hi Suzie! I am so sorry about the link not working on my previous post..I would edit it but it’s not showing up in my admin. Here goes again: https://ontheland.wordpress.com/2015/10/28/contemplating-powerful-forces-writers-quote-wednesday-bewow/
That’s no problem at all ,y lovely!
I love that poem, Janice. Beautiful post, and your love of nature and land is very inspiring.
Thank you! I just happen to have come back from visiting your site. Congratulations on your prize. I like your belief in authenticity.
Thank you, Janice, authenticity and reclaiming my truth is quite a journey for me… I’m loving your blog. So glad we met at the party 🙂
So am I😊
Lovely poem and one of my favourite poems Janice. 🙂
Now hours later, I figured that it might be time to share another link to one of my posts. This one is far away from Halloween, it is a travel post, which will probably be of interest for anyone intending to visit Paris http://solveigwerner.com/2015/10/11/iles-flottantes-no-i-am-not-talking-about-dessert/
Great article and some stunning photos to illustrate your post 🙂 I’d love to visit the Parisian promenade. Thanks for sharing this, David
Thank you David.
Thanks again my lovely!
Shall have to revisit Paris Solveig, such stunning photos!
Thank you 🙂
I have another blog exploring the quirky sides of Los Angeles. I “explored” the Museum of Death the other day in the spirit of Halloween! http://quirkysidesofcity.com/2015/10/28/good-times-at-the-museum-of-death/
Thanks Karen!
Very Halloween! Great post 🙂 Spooky and to the point.
Thanks!
Fascinatingly spooky!
I’ve never been a Halloween fan but this kind of party I like! 🙂
We had an impromptu pumpkin carving party that turned out pretty great as well: http://behindthewillows.com/2015/10/26/pumpkin-party/
Thanks so much Jessie – really appreciate you stopping by and sharing a link! Hope you meet lots of lovely new bloggers!
A spooky evening to you all.
I’ve been away from Blogging for about a month or two. Holidays and work got in the way and I plain got out of the sitting down and typing habit. Tonight is my first one back.
Hope you all like there is hopefully something for man, woman and beast. It’s features Whitby this week.
http://www.lindastantonart.com/blog/halloween-feast-of-treats
Have great party everyone 🙂
Hi Linda! Great to see you back! Hope you’re doing well!
Not too bad thanks considering the horrendous week I’ve had (as my friend said) The boss was on holiday. Monday I got stung by a wasp (third in 2 months, never before been stung) found i had started to have a slight reaction and on Tuesday which was the longest day ever I started at 5am brewing beer and finished at 6pm needing to go to the doctors who sent me to minor injuries because my neck had swelled and was so red you’d have thought Dracula had been at it. I just saw it as a week in the life of me lol. So you really wanted to know all that didn’t you lol
You are sounding very vibrant though x
Aww no that’s crap! Hope you’re feeling better! Yeah it’s all good here thanks!
Yes, Suzie, back again before I’m off to carve pumpkins (so that’s me + large, sharp knives = wish me luck). For anyone with Fibromyalgia, who’s having a flare right now, like me http://yadadarcyyada.com/2013/08/31/fibromylagia-is-just-another-word-for-lazy/
Gentle hugs!
Thanks my lovely!
Hope you’re feeling better soon, hugs.
Yay! I can finally take part in this blog party! Happy Halloween everybody!
I am a disability, lifestyle, and music blogger. This post is an easy and fun Halloween inspired DIY I did with my aunt and uncle a couple of weeks ago. Hope you enjoy! 🙂

Hi Meghan! Thanks so much for sharing your link – feel free to go and visit lots of other lovely blogs!
You’re welcome! I’ve actually went through the others and have read a few of them! 🙂
This is a freshly written Halloween themed post. I hope you enjoy!

Thanks again Steph – I hope you’re having a good time… Feel free to stop by all the other blogs and say hello! Lovely to see you here!
Hi! This sounds fun, never tried a blog party!
I’m new (to taking blogging seriously haha!) and I’m at winberrycrumble.com
I’ve posted a few recipes but this is my link about my fondness (or not…) for afternoon tea, and it’s something I’m pretty proud of!
http://winberrycrumble.com/2015/05/18/afternoon-tea-light/
Hi Rebecca! Welcome – grab a drink and go and meet some lovely bloggers!
Hi. I really enjoyed this post. I wanted to follow your blog, but couldn’t figure out where the follow/subscribe button was.
First time joining in with this blog and doing a blog party in general!
I’m fairly new to blogging still and started my blog because I wanted to share the experiences I have had and aim to have still in life. My blog is a lifestyle blog, but lately has been focused on my growing passion for fitness. I like to share workouts, race recaps, and hiking adventures. I’m not the most talented or coordinated at physical activities and I hope sharing my story will give others inspiration and confidence to believe in their own capabilities as I have been doing for myself! I’m also exploring more and more into blogging about DIY craft projects, recipes, movies, trying new things, and other fun stuff!
Here’s my a recap of a 5k I completed recently. https://curlycaroline.wordpress.com/2015/10/28/a-newbie-runners-perspective-surf-city-5k-recap/?preview=true&preview_id=422&preview_nonce=5c6999558a
Hi Caroline! Welcome to the party! Hope you have a brilliant time!
Hi, Suzie. I’m just stopping by to say hi. My old friend mybrain…uh…I mean “migraine” is knocking at my door. I’m refusing to answer but the pounding is increasing.
Please excuse my low participation this time. You always have the best blog parties, and I’ll check out a few of the sites. Then, I’m gong back to bed.
I’ll add in a link to the Nudge Wink Report that has my Halloween post. There are a lot of good humor writers on NWR.

Hi lovely! Hope you’re doing well! Grab a drink, pull up a chair and feel free to go and chat to lots of lovely bloggers! Enjoy!
Wow Suzie, I’ve found some amazing bloggers and visited some old friends here, thanks again for hosting and the shout-out!!! 🙂
Here’s a funny look at blogging tips http://yadadarcyyada.com/2015/04/10/im-hooked-on-a-feeling/
See you tomorrow for #SundayBlogShare 🙂
I’m so glad my lovely! I hope they’ve come over to see you too? I’m taking The Bloke to a Lego convention tomorrow so I’m going to be late to it…
My last link today – many thanks for a fun party and such amazing guests! http://gularavincent.com/2015/10/14/the-story-behind-the-story-call-for-guest-blog-posts/
Thanks so much – I’m so glad you had a good time!
Hello everyone,
this is the first time I’ve seen one of these parties and I’m SO excited about it- I think it’s such a wonderful way of sharing articles with one another and I’ll be reading through so many of these! To describe my blog I’d probably say it’s a collection of stories and thoughts and simply fun views on my life and everything I think of, really. You might enjoy my monthly lookback entry: http://rosy-smith.blogspot.de/2015/10/get-some-insightoctober.html It’s brand new – hope you enjoy, and have a lovely evening!
Hi Rosy! Welcome! There’s lots of time left so feel free to hop on over and visit lots of other bloggers!
Cool party, Suzie!

Enjoy, everyone!
Hi lovely!!! How are you? So glad you’ve joined in the fun!
I’m not too bad.
Struggling with a bit of depression, but as snarky/nutty as ever!
I’m sorry to hear that. I hate it when The Black Dog starts following you round…
Happy Halloween, Suzie Q! Hope you are having a great time on your side of the pond.
My blog is usually about the laughs, but I like to write a scary short story for Halloween. Enjoy!
https://moviewriternyu.wordpress.com/2015/10/17/the-stalked/
Hi Austin!!! Glad to see you here – there’s lots of lovely people to go and say hello to!
I’ve already visited several and will be back for more later. Need to give out candy… 🙂
What a great idea! Thank you for hosting this! I can’t wait to check out some new blogs. I write a blog about the Middle Ages, but try to keep it light and humorous. Here’s a post on Samhain–or Medieval Halloween. http://21timetraveler.com/2015/10/its-the-great-turnip-charlie-brown-and-other-samhain-traditions/
Thank you very much for sharing your link! Have a great time!
Loving it so far! Thanks!
It’s been a great party and I’ll speak to a few more people before I go.
Here’s my final link – more Black Death – https://aprilmunday.wordpress.com/2015/05/04/the-church-and-the-black-death/
Thanks April – so glad you’ve enjoyed it!
It’s been really good
I’ll throw one more into the ring, it’s about an alternative Halloween http://www.sketchesintravel.co.uk/2015/10/top-tips-for-alternative-halloween.html
Thanks Gavin!
Happy Halloween Evening! Here in Chicago it’s suppertime, and the trick or treaters are set to make the neighborhood rounds! Here is my third post (with huge thanks to Suzie who I absolutely adore). This post is all about gratitude and is entitled, “Gratitude, A Real Game Changer” http://wp.me/p4doQv-Rj
Thanks Cher!
Huge, huge thank you, my dear! Cher xo
Here’s my second post for this blog party: A short story I had to write quickly to get it posted before the day is over.
https://alkagirdhar.wordpress.com/2015/10/31/whats-wrong-with-jimmy-trickortreat/
Thanks everyone for reading!
Hope everyone is enjoying Halloween. If you like music and like blogging and want to read a blog that’s about music then come see me at http://talkaboutpopmusic.net
Whoa! This is a huge party Suzie! I’m a teacher in Australia! Here’s a post with an Aussie flavour 🙂

For my second link I’ve decided to share my experiences trying out a medieval hair dye recipe. http://21timetraveler.com/2015/08/medieval-hair-dye/
Thanks for stopping by and happy Halloween!
I’m back, Suzie to reshare this all over the place again. 🙂
And this post is about aging, magic, and fellow blogger, Teagan’s book, ‘Atonement, Tennessee’. 🙂 http://yadadarcyyada.com/2015/10/03/sweet-dreams-are-made-of-this/
Thanks again for hosting Suzie. Here’s another thing about me, I’m a bookworm. And proud of it. I was reading classics before they were required school reading. I was even reading books I wasn’t even suppose to according to the American Library Association. I had no idea books can be banned. Imagine my surprise. So recently, I purposely read a banned book and wrote a why you should read it review against the claims for it being banned. Are there any Hunger Games fans?: Six Reasons Why You Should Read The Hunger Games: A Banned Book Review http://bit.ly/1Sf3UyP.
And I hope I’m not too late, Suzie, here’s one about fellow blogger, David…and dreaming, hugs, and happiness. 🙂 http://yadadarcyyada.com/2015/10/09/you-may-say-im-a-dreamer/
I’m going to share this again and visit more bloggers then I’m out of your lovely hair. 😉
Hi Suzie,
I am sorry I am late for your party. I had to take my dog to the vet. It’s only 4:30 in California. Anyway, I am here now. It looks like you had a great party with a good turnout. Happy Halloween! It was nice of you to promote Donna’s party. Anyway, onto the introductions:

One of the things I have really enjoyed about blogging is connecting with fellow bloggers! I hope some of you will join me on Thursdays for my Thursday Tryouts link up! Share things you have tried out, whether you enjoyed them or not on a Thursday blog post!

This is my third post for the Halloween Party. It’s not my favourite post because it tells the terrible tragedy of a little girl who went missing completely under the radar until her body was found in the Australian outback. My post traces the tragedy and also the public’s efforts to help give this little girl back her name. https://beyondtheflow.wordpress.com/2015/11/01/when-horror-is-real/
As much as we want to read the fun stuff, we can’t afford to turn our backs on true evil.

Happy Halloween. I’m Momma and my blog is about my thoughts on everything, from being a mom, a wife, a homeschooling family, expats to life in general. And sometimes chocolate… as I think we all need some chocolate in our life 😉 https://amommasview.wordpress.com/2015/10/30/old-or-new/
And thank you so much, Suzie, for hosting 🙂
