Cheers!
After The Bloke was given bad news last week, we were feeling a little anxious about what the future held for us, particularly with the enormous job change I’ve been going through myself recently…
However, it seems that the gods (or, as like to think, my grandfather) were looking out for us, and within the last few days everything seems to have gone in our favour. It turns out that there was a ‘misunderstanding’ and an ‘administrative error,’ which resulted in The Bloke receiving paperwork that he, apparently anyway, shouldn’t have been given and thankfully his job is safe, secure, for now at least. Yay!
Similarly, I went for a meeting today at a primary school that I have worked with previously, and have been now been employed in my second freelance contract in as many months. It’s taken a little while, but things are starting to take off, and I couldn’t be more grateful. After all of the worries, things can hopefully get back to a sense of normality, and I am hoping that this is sign of things to come. Thank you for the unbelievably supportive messages I received from everyone – it really was a comfort and much appreciated!
I haven’t been around as much as would like this week, doing supply teaching and freelance work all week, but despite this I have had a truly fantastic week on the blog, culminating in an epic #SundayBlogShare yesterday. If I’m being totally honest, I’ve been feeling really disheartened with Twitter over the last few months as it felt like a constant battle with spam accounts and bloggers who refused to follow the rules, occasionally getting quite nasty and confrontational when I asked them to stop posting links to Amazon and YouTube and inspirational quotes. Of course, there are always a large amount of wonderful people participating, but even some of those were starting to complain about the spammers, and it was incredibly frustrating because there was absolutely nothing I could do about it other than report it and wait for Twitter to respond.
However, yesterday I decided to have a duvet day, and devoted pretty much all of my time to making sure that everything was running as smoothly as I possibly could. It was insanely busy, trending for most of the day, and after nearly 5000 links had been shared I finished with a real buzz – the atmosphere was fantastic, my Twitter stats had rocketed and I could see that a whole bunch of new people had joined in.
However, that also means that, as usual, I am massively behind in my comment replies and reading, so for the next few hours I’m going to devote some time to doing just that…

Jonb security is always a shaky thing nowadays. Good to hear your guy and yourself are on better footing now.
Thank you – it was a bit of a worrying time…
So glad to here about the Bloke’s job! Fantastic news about your freelance gig too! Congrats.
Thanks my lovely!
A duvet day – that means hanging around, keeping the duvet comfy? I hope so – sounds like much fun!
Very glad about the The Bloke’s job, and your new opportunities. I think we feel joy in contrast to great sadness and if we never felt sad, we’d never recognize the joy.
So, enJOY!
Thanks Sharon! Yeah it basically means me being a bit of a slob and lying under a duvet or blanket on the couch for a day…
Glad to hear the tide has turned 🙂
Thanks Richard!
😄
😆
So glad things are working out. :))
Thanks Lisa!
So glad things are working out for you and the bloke. I still haven’t taken the time to learn Twitter basics…☺️
Take your time with it – once you’ve got the hang of it it’s a lot easier than it initially looks… And thanks Deb!
i’m glad that things have turned around and are on the upswing once again. the pendulum continues to swing, doesn’t it? beth
It certainly does! I would say that that’s what make life interesting, but I’d much rather have a bit of boredom for a while! Lovely to hear from you Beth!
My advice is for The Bloke to continue Job Hunting – Just In Case 🐵
It’s certainly something he’s considering!
Good.
Good news!
Thank you! I heard Professor Farnsworth’s voice when I read that
I love that show!
Me too haha!
I am so thrilled things are looking up! What a great piece of news. Will be thinking and praying that it continues. DAF
Thanks my lovely, as always! Hope things are still going well with you?
So pleased to read that. I promise I won’t post too many comments on your lovely blog, for you to respond to. Am in the process of writing a post, on my 2nd blog, and will include your lovely blog in the post. Hope it doesn’t overwhelm you with new followers lol. Blessings and your news has just made a wet and windy Novemebr evening a whole lot warmer. Blessings Joy
Aww thanks Joy! Feel free to comment any time – I get a bit overwhelmed sometimes and it takes me a while to reply but I will catch up haha!
Suzie, congratulations on freelance opportunity!! I’m so relieved that the situation with Your Bloke was all a misunderstanding.:)
Thanks Dustin! We’re relieved too!
I’m so glad!!
It is like I just watched the plot from the movie Brazil play out live. I hope they give the Bloke an appreciation bonus for putting you guys through that, but even if that doesn’t happen, I am happy that other things are working out for you both.
Ooh that would be nice – I don’t think they’re going to go for that though haha!
Fantastic news Suzie you must both be so relieved! Really happy to hear about your freelancing as well. Brilliant stuff 🙂
Thanks Kirsty! So pleased everything is coming together for you guys too – when is the big move again?
Thanks Suzie. It’s on Friday. Now feeling terrified!

That’s good news! We are hearing more and more of the R word up here right now.
It’s bloody scary isn’t it!
Oh, so glad to hear his job is OK for now.
Thanks my lovely!
It’s wonderful when a plan comes together.
Good luck with your freelance opportunity & glad it was just a misunderstanding when referring to your bloke.
Thanks so much my lovely! Hopefully we can relax a little for now!
So they accidentally fired your boyfriend? Is that the gist of it?
Not fired but near enough… Don’t even get me started…
I won’t. I’m lad things are better.
Yay! Glad things are going so well!!
Thanks my lovely!

Congrats Suzie! you will always be OK. You passed this test. You have learnt something new. Carry on. And trust!
Thank you! I just wish that there weren’t all these tests to pass haha!
I know, today I wrote something about that. But you are now who you are, because all those tests in the past that you have passed with flying colours. You are already a pro.
So glad to hear your troubles are getting fizzed out and things seem to be looking up! I love connecting with new bloggers and am interested in this SundayBlogShare? :] How can I get involved, is it all on Twitter?
Thanks Caroline! Please forgive the late reply – yes #SundayBlogShare is all day every Sunday on Twitter!
I’m so happy to hear that things are looking up! Twitter still scares me (but don’t tell Hugh!) so I really admire what you do. I can’t imagine managing all of that and I know there are people that insist on causing trouble – just can’t imagine why!
What a relief! It sounds like you can relax and enjoy life for now!
I hope so haha! Thanks so much my lovely, really appreciate the support!
YAY – glad things are better …….. might tell the Bloke to start job hunting now …… you never know.
He’s already on it haha! Thanks my lovely!
Glad to hear that everything works out well for The Bloke. I can’t believe they could make a mistake like this! In Malaysia, this is a very delicate matter to handle as we say over here, “we don’t mess around with people’s rice bowl” . It’s people’s employment and income that we have to be sensitive about. Anyway, here’s wishing you a great week ahead 🙂
I love that phrase! Thanks my lovely!
Glad things are working out for you 🙂
Thank you!
This is great news!! Your guardian Angels must have danced for you. 🙂
They certainly were! Thanks my lovely!
Good to know things have fallen in place. Happy for you!
Thank you Parul!
Glad to hear things are better Suzie, I just read your previous post about this and was quite worried for you. Happy to hear it’s all okay.
So glad to read the good news! May things continue to look up!
Thank you my lovely!
