It’s been a tough few days, so I thought I would share some of my favourite quotes to help get me through a dark, cold and dreary Monday… Simply click on the images to see them in full size.
I particularly like the Karen Lamb quote – this is something I often turn to when I am feeling low…
What about you guys? What is your favourite motivational quote that helps to get you through the day?
You can also find me on Twitter and Tumblr @suzie81blog, and don’t forget to check out my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/suzie81speaks, my Pinterest page http://www.pinterest.com/suzie81speaks and my Instagram page http://www.instagram.com/suzie81speaks.
That Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn quote is so true. 🙂
Absolutely!
Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure. (George Edward Woodberry)
Ooh I love that! I think I’ll create an image of that to add to my collection…
(paraphrased) Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right! Henry Ford
I love that one!
“In order for one to learn the important lessons of life, one must first overcome a fear each day.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ooh I like that one too!
These are all so true! Sorry to hear you’ve had a tough few days – I hope things look up for you. Here are a few quotes I like:
‘Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.’ Emerson
‘Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.’ Mark Twain
and of course,
‘Do or do not. There is no try.’ Yoda
They all speak to me of keeping going, forging ahead even when you’re unsure and being open to trying new things. 🙂
As always, you’ve given me some awesome ideas! Thanks Helen!
Thanks Suzie! And the same to you – I want to print out all these quotes and hang them above my desk 🙂
I’m getting a few together for the same reason…
Lovely quotes! Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you!
My absolute favorite quote of all time is this one, Suzie: “Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson (just noticed balletandboxing likes RWE too)!! I often quote him because his words are profound (to me, anyway)! Cher xo
I was going to say I’ve had some Emerson quotes today – I’ll certainly add this to the list! Thanks Cher!
Thank you, dear Suzie!! I’m in need of some motivational quotes today so the timing of your post is perfect! Thank you my dear! Cher xo
Glad it helped my lovely!
It really did, Suzie; thank you!!!
I love the “sometimes you win, sometimes you learn” quote.
Me too!
I needed those nine kicks up the rump – thank you! Here’s my contribution: “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind”. Dr Seuss.
Thanks my lovely! How are you?
I’m working hard and trying to prevent Mrs Playmo from getting on the next plane to Syria armed with a g-string catapult and a bag of Midget Gems. She’s very angry, and thinks she will be more efficient to eradicate Daesh than diplomacy.
Hope life’s lovely for you 🙂
I always love your comments! How’s things over there?
Are you okay? I hate to think of you having tough times. Hope things are on the upswing and that you have a week that is filled with laughter and peace and calmness. ❤ you my dear friend.
Thanks my lovely! I’m ok – been a rough few days for lots of those around me which has taken its toll a little but I’m feeling much better today thanks!
How’s things going with the unpacking?
pretty good, got one more room to clear and set up… pushing now as we are having a Christmas party two weeks from tonight… so, have to finish unpacking and organizing and now have to decorate the house and cook… I am looking forward to a time when I can just sleep in and not have a to do list a mile long! But… I am having fun…. how are you my dear friend? Think of you often. ❤
I like the “7xdown,8xup” saying.
Me too!
Suzie, these are exactly what I needed today.:) Thank you! The Ralph Waldo Emerson particularly resonates.
My favorite quote is “things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out.” – John Wooden.
I love that!

Thanks AJ!
It was my pleasure!! And Thank you for collecting them!
The Karen Lamb quote is one that really got me to start blogging regularly.
I just wish you were motivated enough to supply us with an even 10! 😛
Haha! I like the number nine – it’s a bit more interesting than 10!
Almost an acceptable answer. 🙂
“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”. So so true. have you ever seen the movie “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” with Ben Stiller. It did not get great reviews but it dealt with this concept. Highly recommend it because it is thought provoking.
My favorite quote is a classic Dr. Seuss “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those you matter don’t mind.” Definitely gets me through my school days!
Thank you very much for sharing!
Thanks!

Oh I do love a profound, motivational quote! My fave out of these is also the karen Lamb one. Wise words indeed! #MondayBlogs
Ooh that’s one I’ve printed out… It’s something that inspires me every day
I think I’m going to print it out and pop it on my visualisation board that I’m planning 🙂
That’s a really great idea!
“You only live once? False. You live every day. You only die once.”
That’s me done.
Love that Barb!
My favorite has always been “In the depths of winter I discovered within me there lay an invincible summer” (paraphrased) by Camus. The first time I read it, I felt such optimism, and it’s stayed with me since. 🙂 Maybe it’s just the word invincible that does it for me.
Ooh I lke that! Thank you!
Do or do not. There is no try. I love Yoda!
Haha! Me too!
I love these, I hate Mondays and these are so good. Thanks.
Thanks! Monday’s are currently my favourite day of the week but when things were tough these quotes really helped me!
