Suzie Speaks Blog Party!

Welcome to my blog party!

I haven’t hosted a blog party in a very long time, and there are a few things that I would like to take the opportunity to celebrate:

  • Suzie Speaks hit 20,000 collective followers a little while ago
  • I am getting married next week
  • Halloween is approaching

I thought it would be a brilliant opportunity to create a space for the blogging community to share a few links from their blog and potentially meet new people. I always have a great time, with hundreds of links being shared, and it means that I get the chance to find new blogs to follow and catch up on some posts that I have missed.

For those of you who have never participated in a blog party before, here are the rules:

1. Choose your favourite post from your own blog. The subject of the post can be anything you like – blogging, food, parenting, life, travel, thoughts, photography… Note: This should be only ONE post overall and should be from your blog – I will delete any posts shared for someone else – and spend the time visiting other bloggers instead.

2. Copy the URL

3. Paste the link in the comment section of this post.

4. Make sure that it is blog posts only please! No Amazon pages, YouTube, Spotify, group boards, Facebook groups or Etsy promotion – I will delete these and any further links from anyone who ignores this.

5. Enjoy! Relax, pull up a chair and meet new people! Find new blogs, comment on their posts, be polite, courteous and respectful and don’t forget to follow, reblog, tweet, pin, stumble and share.

* Comment directly on someone’s POST, not in the comment section of this post if you are responding to them. ‘Nice post’ is not an acceptable comment – make it meaningful.
* Retweet my pinned tweet on Twitter to invite more people.
* You don’t have to follow me of any of my social media, but you’re welcome to!
* You don’t have to have been blogging for a specific amount of time or have to have a certain number of followers – everyone is welcome!
* You are also very welcome to invite your friends and you’re welcome to reblog this post too!

This is a really useful way of discovering new blogs, particularly if you have only just joined the blogging world – the general rule that I set myself when I participate is that I check out at least two or three other bloggers if I am sharing a link.

The blog party will be open for 48 hours to give everyone within each timezone the chance to participate.

If you would like to join some Pinterest group boards, I am a social media manager for Pinterest and have numerous clients that are looking for high quality contributors – send me a PM on my Pinterest

You can find me on Twitter and Tumblr @suzie81blog, and don’t forget to follow my Facebook page, my Pinterest page and my Instagram page

  1. Hey Suzie. I can’t believe your wedding and Halloween have come around so quickly! This really is the most wonderful time of the year, isn’t it? As you know, I write a crafts and seasonal home styling blog, but I go all out on the decorating for Halloween! A couple of years ago, I started opening up the house to the local Trick or Treaters, inviting in all the little witches, wizards and Draculas to share my obsession. It used to be just the hallway, but this year we are going bigger! We’re opening up three rooms in our Halloween Home and to give you a flavour, here’s my favourite blog post – last year’s Halloween Home tour. I hope you enjoy it and if anyone needs someone to style their space for next Halloween, well… you know where to find me!! I hope you have a truly memorable day and I can’t wait to read all about it. Thanks for hosting this blog party. Love, Sue xx

  2. Suzie – have the most wonderful wedding – I expect you will be frantic with all the things still to do, so please make sure you get a good rest up the night before so you can really enjoy your special day – This is not my favourite blog about my journey writing my debut novel but it is certainly the one that has received the most feedback – it seems to resonate with people – all best wishes to you both xx

  3. Hello!
Congrats Suzie on everything you have achieved. You were my very first blog I followed and I love the fact that you’re a fab friend. Thank you for everything you have done for me.
Here’s to your future happiness and successes. Cheers! 🥂🍾
*puts on party hat * 🎉🍰🎊🎁🎈
In honour of your party, thought I’d share the post celebrating my own engagement weekend.

  4. I’m looking forward to hearing all about the wedding in two weeks’ time, Suzie. The gathering is looking to be about 10 strong, which should give us all time to chat to each other. Enjoy the day, and remember that whatever goes wrong will only form part of a more interesting story when you tell it after the event. So hope for things to go wrong! (And it’s not the wedding that matters, it’s the marriage…)

As for the blog post, rather imaginatively, I’m sharing my latest rather than a “best” one, because it seems to me that the ones I think are brilliant are met with varying degrees of interest and disinterest just as the ones I think no one will be interested in can sometimes score loads of hits. On that basis, I have no idea what will appeal. But if you like great music and a little nostalgia, this may appeal…

  5. Many congratulations, Suzie! On both the follower count and the marriage! Hopefully the big day goes well 🙂

I’ve been struggling to chose a post to share, so I’ve gone for this one as it seemed popular with my followers… So, hopefully it’ll be popular with some new followers too 🙂 If you take the time to read, and enjoy what you see, please let me know! I love feedback and will always reply 🙂

  6. Congratulations on hitting 20,000 followers! That is incredible.
To continue the sharing of celebrations, my flat mate and I recently started a blog about budget travel and food recipes which we are very excited about. Our first blog post can be found here:
Also we managed to book two holidays this Christmas term to Belgium and Poland! And I’m going back home for Halloween, so celebrations all round! 😀
