2018 has been quite a mixed year for blogging, so I took a little break for a little while. However, I’ve started to develop my posting schedule, have suddenly found myself with a whole list of content ideas and was quickly reminded of the sheer joy it brings and just how much I missed it. I also miss the connections that I have with some of my online friends and their posts…
During October a number of my writer friends start to plan for National November Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) with the goal being to write 50,000 words. To coincide with this, I’ve set myself the challenge of participating in my own little National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) but on my own terms and will be posting every single day for the entirety of November.
Thirty days, thirty posts.
It isn’t something that I have ever done before (I’ve only posted just fifty times during 2018 so far) and while I can imagine that it will become more difficult as the month goes on, I need to gain the satisfaction from actually achieving a goal – something that I don’t feel I have been able to do this year very much. I’ve already informed The Bloke to expect my laptop to be a prominent feature in the living room (luckily, he’s very supportive of it) and felt it necessary to announce it here too, just for accountability.
Wish me luck!
What about you guys? Are you participating in NaNoWriMo this year?

Wow, good luck! I’m not sure I could do 50,000 words in one month – maybe in one year! 😉
Haha! You know when you get the feeling you may have set the bar too high? Yeah, that…
Ha, ha, ah well, you’re committed now! 😉
I’m sure if anyone can do it you can Suzie! Good luck, I for one have missed you.
Thanks lovely! I’ve been dipping in and out of your blog but I need to catch up on so much haha!
I bet you’ve got a lot to catch up on, but it’s nice to see you back at it 🙂
It’s definitely exciting this morning – I’ve written down a whole list of people to visit, yourself included!
Good luck with the challenge! Look forward to reading your posts. Maybe one year I’ll do this too 👍🏻😊
Thanks lovely! You’ll be in it in the middle of Nov too!
Wish you luck, you can do it
Thank you! I hope so!
good luck – we all go through those ups and downs. glad to see you back
Thank you! I think I’m going to need it haha!
I’m going NaNoWri this year. Deep breath. I find it gives me a focus and deadline, plus sense of community. Good luck with your challenge.
Ooooh exciting! Good luck!
Good luck! No NaNoWriMo for me. I’m focusing on an ongoing project.
Ooooh that sounds intriguing!
Just started today with a 30 day journaling challenge. Day 1 – Who Are You? Been staring at a blank piece of paper for the last 35 mins .. going well so far then!!!!
Hahahaha! I could tell you a million things to put in there…
HA! Just by writing this down you are on your way!
Good luck Suzie!!!!
Thanks lovely! Are you doing anything over November?
If I can get my edit done I’ll be happy!!!
Good luck!
Thank you lovely! You too!
Good luck, looking forward to reading what you can think to write every day for 30 days, certainly a challenge. I’ve kept a diary on an app called Daylio, though it’s a bit easier because the only audience is me so I can write whatever I like, so far I’m on my 161st consecutive day. Annoyingly I let it slip in April and most of May otherwise I’d have a whole 365 days by now.
Thanks! Oh my gosh that’s amazing! Congrats!
I don’t think I have time and energy to write that much. Writing 8 posts a month itself is a big challenge when you are not a full-time blogger! All the best Suzie for the challenge!
Thank you! I really need to up my game so this is why I’m doing it
Great1 All the best 🙂
Good luck. I posted every day my first year of blogging but mostly just post once a week these days. 🌼
Yeah I used to be crazy at first and now it’s only one a week – I really miss it!
I am going to do nablopomo, I just don’t know how I am going to do it. I was hoping there would be a group, kind of like how nanowrimo is organized. But it seems there isn’t any organization. As for you – writing for 30 days in a row is a huge challenge! I’ve never completed it correctly. But you will learn so much about yourself and your audience. Every blogger needs to do it once. Good luck!
BlogHer used to run it every year with themes and everything, but I don’t think they do it anymore… let me know how you get on!
Suzie – I am going to use a list provided by a lady who runs a group called Nanopoblano. See my newest post to learn about it and find the links!
Awww Rarasaur! She’s amazing- one of the first bloggers I ever read!
Good luck with your challenge! My goal is to post every single day – and if I can’t do it, I will reblog a previous post or better yet reblog someone else’s blog – to showcase great stories from other bloggers….I will do that for you this month!
Aww thanks John! Good luck!
I am participating in NaNoWriMo this year – for what I’m considering my first serious time. I have a thought-out idea, characters, and plot points written down, but the biggest difference I’m feeling this November is with my level of enthusiasm! I’m so excited to take on this project, and that feels great. Good luck to you with NaBloPoMo; will be looking forward to reading your posts throughout the month during any of my episodes of writer’s block/meltdown/short breaks. 😉😊
Ooh the fact that you’re excited about it is a good sign! Good luck with it – let me know how you get on!
Thank you so much!
Best of luck Suzie. Not sure I have the self-discipline to post for 30 consecutive days. have you planned what you’re going to write about or are you hoping it just comes to you each day?
Thanks Jonno! I’ve mapped out a rough idea of what to post and when and have a few posts already scheduled, but I’ve left space for any interesting things that may happen during the month…
You’re gonna be a busy lady Suzie, hope it goes well. I’ll be watching (sounds a bit creepy).
Haha! Not at all…
I hope you do it Suzie, no I would like to do NaNoWriMo but I don’t have time for it 😦
It’s much more difficult for people with kids… I totally understand…
Yup… 😱
That’s a lot of words!! You’ll be great – Good luck!! 🙂
Thanks lovely! Have you got anything planned for the blog over November?
Glad to hear from you. Happy to see you back and good luck with NaBloPoMo 🙂
Thanks lovely! Are you doing anything over November?
Wanted to but looks like I will play my usual game and cheer for you 😊
Haha! Thank you!
.Yay for NaBloPoMo, and for blogging in general! I’m also participating this month. I don’t do NaNoWriMo, I think it would be too much for me. Blogging daily is just enough though.
Haha! How are you finding it so far? Are you planning posts in advance or writing as you go along?
I can’t do NaNoWriMo but I’m going to try writing a couple of short stories at least. Good luck to you!
Thanks lovely! How are you getting on with the stories?
Not far yet, but at least I got this week’s post done!
I’m too much of a wimp to do NaNoWriMo. I could not cope with the stress of not writing every day.
Good luck with your challenge. I know you can do it.
Me? I’ll be finishing my edits for the next book. If I can achieve that, then I’ll be very happy.
Oooooh how exciting!! Have you got much to do, Hugh?
I’m about three-quarters away through it. I can see the finishing line in the distance. 😀Hopefully, by the end of Nov, it will be back with the editor for its final proofread.
Yay! Good luck – looking forward to reading it!
Doing NaNoWriMo for the first time. Three days in and 7000+ words written. Loving it, but can I keep going for a whole month? We’ll see. Fingers crossed. Welcome back, I’ve missed you.
Mark
Ooh congrats Mark – that’s an awesome start! Let me know how you get on!
