In an effort to inject some positivity into my daily mindset and the online world I have created a Daily Gratitude Challenge and I am inviting everyone to participate. If you have missed my introductory post that explains the challenge and maps out the daily post schedule, visit here.
Day 11 focuses on the here and now and mindfully being present in the moment. Take a minute to stop and look at where you are and what you have – what is it that you’re grateful for today?
Things I Am Grateful For Today
I’m awake, healthy and feeling positive. I’m in a safe environment, have clothes on my back, food in the cupboard, access to clean water and a roof over my head. I have an education and free healthcare should I need it. There are so many that can’t say the same.
I’m grateful that it is the weekend. This working week has been a thoroughly enjoyable one, but has seemed to go on forever. Saturday morning is currently my favourite time of the week – I have an entire day to myself to do whatever I feel in the mood for, with no obligation to actually achieve anything.
Similarly, I have my own mind and the freedom to make decisions for myself. I don’t have to answer to or justify myself to anyone.
The weather is glorious. After several weeks of grey and gloom, the sun is out and the sky is blue – it immediately lifts the spirits.
Peace and quiet. It is early in the morning and nobody is awake yet. There aren’t any cars on the road, the cat is asleep after eating his breakfast, there are no loud conversations or music blasting from people walking past the house.
The park near my house. I’ll go for a morning walk before it starts to get busy and watch the wildlife.
