Daily Gratitude Challenge Day 15: Work

In an effort to inject some positivity into my daily mindset and the online world I have created a Daily Gratitude Challenge and I am inviting everyone to participate. If you have missed my introductory post that explains the challenge and maps out the daily post schedule, visit here.

Daily Gratitude Challenge What part of your job are you most grateful for (1)

Day 15 of the Daily Gratitude Challenge focuses on work. If you have a job (particularly in the current environment), then you’re lucky and this is an opportunity to look closely at your working life – what about your job are you most grateful for?

Things About My Job I Am Grateful For

What part of your job are you grateful for

My job is very different to the one I had 5 years ago, and certainly wasn’t planned. After being miserable in my teaching role, starting a blog and then falling into social media management, I’m now a full-time social media manager and freelance writer for some large websites. I love it, to the point where I have to be reminded to take a day off as it doesn’t feel like work.

I’m grateful for the fact that it allows me to work from home, especially this year. I don’t have a fancy desk set-up, preferring to work while sitting on the couch in the living room, and I like the solitude.

I can choose my own hours. If I want to start at ridiculous o’clock in the morning or work later into the afternoon, the option is there to do so.

No day is the same and I get to constantly learn new things. Social media platforms change frequently, which means that I also have to be able to adapt quickly.

I get to learn more about my clients. By setting up pins for a travel blogger, for example, I get to see all the wonderful places that they have visited. Scheduling Instagram posts for a photographer or artist gives me an insight into their creativity.

I can develop my own creativity. I really enjoy sinking my teeth into more creative visual images like Instagram stories.

I get to meet new people that I would never have met in the real world, and have even been able to meet some of them in person.

When writing for websites I get to learn more about where I live and see all of the new things that are happening in and around the city. I can have fun by doing some research – The Bloke and I created our own self-made Tolkein tour last year for an article that I was writing and we visited lots of local areas that were associated with him.
