This is a current snapshot of my life. I have always enjoyed writing and have hundreds of small notebooks cluttering up the house, so in April 2013 I felt that the obvious solution was to start a blog.
Since then, Suzie Speaks has grown beyond all expectations. I love the people and the community and I’m not being melodramatic when I say it has been the best form of therapy I have ever had. It has changed my life in ways I never could have imagined and I was able to leave my job and work as a blogger and Social Media Manager full-time.
My posts reflect my mood and experiences and cover topics ranging from books, film, thoughts, daily life, teaching, friendship, relationships, things I find amusing, my adventures around my beloved city of Birmingham and my travel experiences. I blog about my life, my loves, my family and friends.
I’m a thirty – seven year old former teacher from England. I live with The Bloke – my fiance (and a very patient man) who has been my partner-in-crime for a very long time… and our elderly cat. I am in the process of changing my life and becoming self-employed and I am gradually figuring out what I should be doing with my time.
There are several pages that you may find interesting and can be found in the menu.
Blogging Tips: While I have only been in the blogosphere for a few years (yes, I’m using that word), I have included a few hints and tips that I have learned that may be useful. You’ll be able to find posts on everything from increasing your traffic, comments and likes, to self-censorship, recycling content and using social media groups.
Birmingham Reviews: An overview of places, restaurants, cocktail bars and experiences in my adopted city!
Social Media Management: A break down of my Social Media Management options for bloggers who need a social media boost!
Sponsorship: Want to sponsor Suzie Speaks? There are several different packages you can purchase, from monthly sponsorship, ‘Blog of the Day’ and hosting blog parties.

Hello Suzie!
I find your blog posts honest and interesting. They do give readers better insight on photography. If you have the time, do check out my blog on books and quotes. http://bookquotemonster.wordpress.com Cheers! – Marcus
Thank you very much Marcus – really appreciate it!
Love your blog! Great writing! I started blogging about a month ago myself and like you I am a teacher.
hello Suzie81,
I admire your trick, You made the first comment on the community pool, and got so much likes and comments for your post – https://suzie81speaks.com/2014/08/20/the-tale-of-a-sociopath/
can you tell me the time with the time zone(GMT, IST etc) when to make it the first comment on community pool. I plan to make it the first comment on community pool.
In return, i am sharing a trick for you to get more likes on your blog:
Go to Settings>Sharing, and select the checkbox – Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results
Now if someone visits your blog, he/she may like the post without opening the post separately. It will help you get more likes on the blog.
regards, http://YourWellWisherProgram.wordpress.com
Thanks, but it isn’t the amount of ‘likes’ I get that interest me. I know some people that click on my posts without reading it, but I actually want people to open my posts
And I didn’t get all my ‘likes’ and comments from the Community Pool – if you check the times of them you’ll see I gained most of them from when I actually wrote the post several days before – the Community Pool had very little to do with it and its quite insulting to suggest otherwise – that post was something I was nervous about sharing as it was very personal. You’ll also find that I receive a similar number of likes and comments for lots of my posts. Feel free to post when you wish on the Community Pool – I’m not in competition with anyone.
This is the second time you have said this – you sent me the same message again in May. Please don’t do so again.
Hey Suzie, #SundayBlogShare is an awesome thing. Just so you know, I work Twitter on behalf of my contributors and blogging friends pretty hard on most weekends. Any time you have a weekend social event, feel free to tag me (@Sourcererblog) in a tweet or whatever to get my attention.
I’ve restructured my whole Facebook and basically the FB is all about the blogging now. Got your fanpage on a carefully curated list of people I’ve interacted with a bit who are both nice and interested in getting ahead as bloggers, so I’m keeping up with you that way and if you should be seeing more Facebook likes and occasional comments from me from here on out. Following you here on WordPress, of course, but counting on me to see something in the reader on any given day is pretty sketchy 🙂
If you want to work together at some point, I’m down. I occasionally do Social Saturdays on my personal blog in which I encourage bloggers to drop links, then visit as many as I can, tweet the links as I go, and build Pinterest Boards to commemorate the event. I’d happily do a coordinated blogging activity with you if we could set it up so it hits me at a good time and if I have plenty of notice to prepare. Just food for thought. Will happily contact you if you’d like to discuss.
Hello there! Thank you for liking my post. you have a great blog, keep on writing
