Blog of the Day: Unfold and Begin

I’m away this week, so I thought I would take the opportunity to share the blog love and promote some bloggers for you to check out!

Meet Jennifer, the creator of Unfold and Begin. I’ve known her through various communities for quite a while now, and I’ve always enjoyed her posts and the fun sense of humour she has in daily conversation!

I love interesting About pages, and Jennifer’s is highly entertaining:

My name is Jennifer Koshak and I’m on the tail end of the baby boomers.  You should know that I’m willing to enjoy chocolate, practice some yoga, have some fun and explore new places and new things in my next 50 years.

Blog of the Day: Deb’s World

debs-world

Meet Debbie, the creator of Deb’s World.

As a lifestyle blogger, she has one of the most interesting ‘About Me’ pages that I’ve ever seen. Here’s just a small selection…

I am Debbie – I am a wife; mother; daughter; sister; friend; blogger; reader; runner; walker; cyclist; Rail Trail enthusiast; traveller; Rotarian; Whovian; teacher.

And now I’m a retiree!!  Very early retirement!

I have three beautiful daughters who are all grown up and making their own way in the big wide world. I like to write about my family…

I am into keeping healthy and have learnt how to run again. I feel fantastic as a result of my efforts and I sometimes blog about my  running journey. Continue reading

Blog of the Day: Cookie Crumbs

Cookie Crumbs (and a beautiful picture too!)

Cookie Crumbs (and a beautiful picture too!)

Meet Tasha!

Tasha is the creator and owner of Cookie Crumbs, a blog which documents her life as a wife, mother and creative soul.

Cookie Crumbs is new to Suzie Speaks, but I instantly loved the design and the tag line: ‘Welcome to my mind. Please excuse the mess, I haven’t had time to clean‘. Tasha explains her story in her About Page:

My family and I live in Iowa, where I was born and raised.  Since the birth of our daughter, Addie, I felt the struggle between being a full-time working mother and just wanting to be home with her.  I have gone from a working mom to a SAHM and back to a working mom.  Each poses it’s own set of struggles and joys… Continue reading

Blog of the Day: The Phil Factor!

AuthorMeet Phil!

A regular on Suzie Speaks and one of my oldest (not in age, rather in terms of the length of time I’ve known him) bloggy friends, The Phil Factor is one of my favourite blogs. With hundreds of hilarious and thought-provoking posts, Phil shares his ideas and musings on current events, his daily life, Top Tens of his favourite things and, of course, his campaign to become president and/or sexiest man alive. And judging from his most recent clown pic, the Sexiest Man Alive award must be just moments away!

He’s rather more modest on his About Page: Continue reading

Blog of the Day: Kim Knight

Meet Kim!

Kim, from KimKnightAuthor.com, is a new discovery of Suzie Speaks. I started writing a description for today’s Blog of the Day, but then I realised that she does a far better description of herself and her blog in her about page:

Kim is 33, from London in the UK. She’s a qualified teacher and mother to a beautiful toddler. As a reader she’s head over heels in love with romance, historical fiction, crime fiction, African- American, suspense and thriller genre books. After submitting three chapters of a romance /suspense novel she was writing to a USA based publisher in 2016, she scored her first publishing contact. Kim’s first novel was released September 2016, A Stranger in France. Her second novella will be released at Christmas 2016. As a writer Kim likes to create stories within the romantic -suspense and general thriller genres. Kim also writes beauty and book related articles published in Love Life, Live magazine.

When she’s not reading or writing novels of her own, her other passions include practising her French, fashion and spending time at her sewing machine dress making, watching make –up and beauty tutorials on YouTube, letter writing and being a mum. Continue reading

Book Blogging with Valley Girl Gone Country

IMG_5082

Ever wondered what happens when a group of book bloggers take on a book convention?

I absolutely loved this post from Jolene. I’ve written about her on many occasions – she was one of my very first blogging friends that I made in 2013 when I joined the WordPress community, and I’ve seen her life, blog and even her writing style grow and develop over the years. She’s an obsessive reader – I often see her Facebook page littered with pictures of the mountains of books she has purchased that day – and she’s in the process of writing her very own novel, which will be published soon!

How exciting!

I particularly love her posts about her adventures with her author and book-a-holic friends – it always seems like some sort of adventure is to be had whenever they get together!

Are you a bibliophile, or an author? Do you want someone to read and review your latest musings, or give you some advice on the next step of your journey? Then this is the blog for you!

Check her out at Valley Girl Gone Country, and on Twitter @JoleneVGGC

Blog of the Day: Only See Your Good Side

imageI love promoting other blogs as part of the Blog of the Day, and I’m sure that you’ll love this one just as much as I do.

Only See Your Good Side is almost an online journal and is created by Becky Balfourth. Her ‘About’ page explains how she is using the blog in a similar way to me, as a form of therapy. Continue reading

Blog Of the Day: Meet The Phil Factor!

imageMeet Phil, author and creator of The Phil Factor.

When I started Suzie81 Speaks nearly two years ago, Phil was one of the first blogs that I followed. Why? Becase both Phil (and his blog) is utterly fantastic.

His ‘About’ page made me smile:

Hi there, thanks for reading my blog. I’m The Grand Poobah of Leisure and the author of the humorous, murder-mystery novels White Picket Prisons and The Sneaker Tree as well as the humor book Fifty Shades of Phil. I’m a father of three, husband to one, and life-long smart ass to many. I’ve been well trained by my two dogs and a cat and am a loyal servant to them all. I’m an excellent ping-pong player and I make the best grilled cheese sandwiches in the world, bar none. I have a Master’s degree in Psychology and spent many years working in the field of mental health before realizing that stringing words together might be a little bit more fun. My first fiction novel, White Picket Prisons, is an ode to the life-long friends that I grew up with and still keep in touch with to this day.

However, (sorry Phil), it doesn’t quite do him justice. Phil’s posts are hilarious, intelligently written and eclectic and during my blogging adventures I have stolen more ideas from ideas from his blog than I have anywhere else. I love the fact that his it doesn’t have a niche – you never know what he is going to discuss next – and he has created a welcoming place where it is possible to talk about anything and everything without judgement.

If you do nothing else today, follow this blog – I promise that it will be time well spent.

You can also find Phil on Twitter: @ThePhilFactor

Phil’s novels, including ‘The Sneaker Tree’ is also available on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble.

Blog of The Day: Meet Steve!

image

Meet Steve! He’s a blogger extraordinaire, proud Scotsman and creator of two fun and interesting blogs: Steve Says and Now This is What I Would Call Music. He covers lots of different topics, including giving us an insight into his own life, but Steve’s biggest passion in life is music. His posts have included every UK Number 1 since records began, Eurovision favourites, television and movies and Top 10’s, and I don’t know how he finds the time to create such great content! He has now even branched out further into the world of vlogging, and has started posting regular videos that gives us insights into his playlists for the week.

Steve and I met through the Daily Post’s Community Pool over a year ago. I was instantly hooked on his blog because we share the same passion about music (and in particular, Eurovision), and over time we have become good bloggy friends, working together on several projects that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. I’ve also been honoured to guest post on his blog before.

Steve’s ‘About’ page gives you a very small insight into his life:

Whether you got here by a quick click or via a long scan – welcome to my personal blog. I just want to share my ideas, findings and general reflections with anyone that has time to listen – music, photos, rants – there’s no real theme here…

I currently work in the IT industry as:

IT Productivity Coach (they say)
Service Delivery (they say)
Desktop Support (they say)
IT Ninja (I say)
I love Music and iTunes so it’s quite handy that I also have my own music blog. I also like Cats, Bang & Olufsen, Doctor Who

I live with my partner Greg which is fun sometimes. He doesn’t love music, iTunes or Bang & Olufsen but he does like cats which is quite lucky as we have two. We live in a village called Alford, Aberdeenshire, Scotland which is home of Emeli Sande & birthplace of the Aberdeen Angus cow.

I enjoy Steve’s musings because they never follow a pattern – I like the eclectic mix of thoughts and ideas that he produces each day, I love the wit and honesty with which he delivers them and I have laughed so much in the random conversations I have with him. He’s a fountain of musical knowledge, and I have learnt so much from his posts…

Follow him! Share his posts! Send him a message on Twitter!

Steve is also my glamorous co-host for this week’s #SundayBlogShare, during which he will be reading and retweeting, so it is a brilliant opportunity for you to follow him on his Twitter handle, @stevesays2014, and tweet him your posts!

Here are Steve’s social media accounts…

Enjoy – I’m sure you’ll enjoy his posts as much as I do!
