     • Yeah we really did enjoy each moment of our trip. 🙂 Great question! I haven’t traveled outside our country yet but personally, I think Philippines is most likely comparable to Thailand and Malaysia. Have you been to one of those countries?

       By the way, I’m really happy for your comment. This means a lot. 🙂

     • I haven’t been neither to Thailand nor Malaysia yet, but I would like to go. I think it’s interesting that you compare your country to them, I would have guessed maybe South America (because on the Philippines they do speak Spanish, don’t they?)

     • We don’t actually speak Spanish BUT some of our words are borrowed from the Spanish language because Spain was our motherland for 333 years! 🙂

     • Oh my God, how embarrassing, I was sure that the mother tongue of the Philippines is Spanish… So what language are you speaking?

     • Haha. That’s totally fine! Lots of people get mistaken by it. 😉 We have our own language, “Filipino/Tagalog” but most of us speak English really well too. 🙂

I went to Portland, Oregon to check it out for a potential place to move to, and I had the added perk of going to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and seeing something from one of my all-time favourite movies (scroll down to the bottom of the post). 14. I’d like to throw in a second link: It’s a post that I published two weeks ago on my blog and that went viral in Belgium. It’s called ‘Where the heck is Liege’, and it’s about my trip to this city. I was surprised at how many Belgians shared it. It think it was because the city of Liege doesn’t get much affection, and is always in the shadow of other great Belgian cities like Bruges, Ghent or Antwerp. But this ‘viral’ thing was a great experience and fun.

    • Really liked this. Couldn’t agree more: just because a destination isn’t at the top of someone’s bucket list, doesn’t mean it isn’t worth seeing. Half my posts usually deal with lesser known but awesome places

      • I totally agree, and I tell you what: My post on Liege went viral in Belgium. I’ve never expected that because it’s not such a fave destination. But exactly that’s the reason why they freaked out about it. My post landed in the local newspaper, people invited me over and thanked me that someone hadn’t ridiculed their city. They were really so nice to me. So it’s a good tip: Write about lesser known destinations, sometimes it gets you more attention than the billionth post about Paris.
